Our Leagues
Highland Community Curling Club offers a broad selection of leagues, for those who are new to the game as well as those with many years of experience under their belts. We have leagues for youth and adults, men and women, as well as mixed and open (any gender combination, at each position).
The chart below provides an overview of the various leagues and programs that are available throughout the 2023-2024 curling season:
- We offer several types of leagues: Men's (3), Women's (3), Mixed (2), Open (5), Youth (3)
- Leagues designated as Club 'C', while open to all skill levels, are considered to be more competitive, and compete for a club championship (HCCC is fortunate to include teams from Western Universtiy & Fanshawe College in these leagues)
- Leagues designated as Limited play less than a full schedule (fewer ends per game, or fewer games per season)

Our Men's Club 'C' league is the more competivie of our evening men's leagues.
Curlers of all abilities, skill levels and experience are welcome.
After the final round robin draw, playoffs are held to determine champions in several events.

Our Mixed Club 'C' league is competivie, yet fun and social. Almost all evening curlers want to play in this league!
Teams are comprised of two female and two male curlers. Curlers of all abilities, skill levels and experience are welcome.

Our Women's Club 'C' league is a team-based league. Curlers of all abilities, and experience are welcome to join. We offer one of the largest women’s evening competitive leagues in the province, and are always ready to welcome more teams. Participants enjoy friendly competition on the ice and wonderful conversation after the game!
Target Curlers: | Female curlers (aged 16 and over); all skill levels |
Format: | Competitive: this league is leads to a club championship. Teams stay together for the entire season and play in flights matching level of play. Movement to different flights is based on performance. |

The Day Women's Club 'C' is offered on Monday afternoons. It is flighted and considered the generally more competitive of the daytime women’s leagues.

Format: | This league uses a round robin format with 2 rounds played throughout the season. After the Round Robin, teams are flighted and Playoffs are held to determine champions. This league runs the entire season. |

Mixed Doubles Club 'C' teams are comprised of one male and one female curler. Mixed doubles is offered on Saturday mornings or afternoons, every other week.

This Day Men's Jitney is a league offered on Monday mornings, This recreational league is the more casual of the daytime men’s leagues and is individual sign up. Convenors place curlers on teams each week.

Our Day Women's Tuesday afternoon league is individual sign-up. The season consists of three (3) rounds, which vary from six (6) to eight (8) weeks in length. Teams are created for the duration of each round.

Our evening Open league offers an opportunity for curlers to join a team of any gender combination and play in any order.

The Day Open league welcomes curlers of any gender, and teams may include males and females in any order. You may sign up as an individual, request to play with a friend or partner, and request to play a preferred position. It promises to be fun and a relaxed morning of curling!

Our Friday Night Recreational open league is a fun, social atmosphere for new and experienced curlers alike. This is a great entry league for newer curlers or anyone just wanting a fun night out!
Join this recreational league as individuals or as a pair. It is an open league - any gender is welcome and there are no restrictions as to who may be on a team. Teams are organized by the convenors and are changed approximately every 7 weeks. Curlers of all abilities and levels of experience are welcome. It is often the first league experience for many of the people who do the ‘Learn-to-Curl’ instructional programs. This is a league for people who like to curl and enjoy meeting other people.

Our Golfers & Friends open league is designed to introduce Highland Country Club members to the game of curling with their friends. The league will have instructional support in a non-competitive, social environment.
Attention: Golfers & Friends will again be offered for the 2023-2024 season if there is enough interest in this league.

Our Little-Rocks program is designed for youth (age 6-12) and offers instruction from qualified curlers. The program will teach the fundamentals of the sport, etiquette and sportsmanship while keeping it FUN and engaging for youth, including instructional time and game play comprise this program. They play Sunday morning between 10am and 11:30am.
'Little Rocks' are an innovation that allows youngsters ages 6 to 12 to curl. The rocks are half the size and weight of regular curling rocks and are used until members are ready to use full size rocks.
Knowledgeable instructors provide skill development and organize games in a fun and inclusive environment. Off-ice parental supervision is required for all participants. Helmets are mandatory for anyone under 12 years of age and recommended for all participants.

Our Bantam (U16) program is for curlers age 16 & younger. This group includes both novice and experienced curlers. They play Sunday mornings between 10am and 11:30am.
Knowledgeable instructors provide skill development and organize games in a fun and inclusive environment. Off-ice parental supervision is required for all participants. Helmets are mandatory for anyone under 12 years of age and recommended for all participants.

Adult Learn-to-Curl (Saturday Afternoon OR Sunday Afternoon)
For the 2023-2024 season, our adult Learn-to-Curl program is offered with just two spearate fall sessions (October-November). These 6-week programs are designed for curlers new to the sport, or returning after a long hiatus. It teaches the fundamentals of the sport and etiquette and equips curlers to transition into club leagues. Included in the 6-week program are both instruction and game play.
Any Learn-to-Curl curler who wishes to join the club/league(s) after their session is complete will receive a credit towards their membership in the amount of the Learn-to-Curl program fee.
