For those under the age of 21 wishing to try the sport of curling, our youth programs, for both experienced and new curlers, run the entire curling season. These programs teach the fundamentals of the sport, etiquette and sportsmanship while keeping it FUN and engaging for youth, including instructional time and game play. These programs play Sunday each week.
Knowledgeable instructors provide skill development and organize games in a fun and inclusive environment.
Young people who are new to curling, as well as those with experience, are all welcome.
Helmets are mandatory for anyone under 12 years of age and recommended for all participants.
Youth Program:
Our Youth program is for curlers ages 6 – 20 years. This group is geared to novice and experienced recreational curlers. This program runs Sunday mornings between 10am and 11:30am.
Youth Competitive Program:
Our Youth Competitive program is for curlers ages 10 to 20 years. This group is geared to experienced and competitive youth curlers. This program runs Sunday mornings between 11:30-1:00pm.
Sessions may be longer when ice time is available. Registration for this program is by invitation only after identification or discussion of program eligibility, with the program convener.
Youth Groups:
- Juniors (U21); Youth and Youth Competitive: under 21 years of age *
- Bantam (U16); Youth and Youth Competitive: under 16 years of age *
- Little-Rocks; Youth only: 6-12 years of age *

Note: All three Youth groups and both Youth Competitive groups run concurrently, and may be combined depending on enrolment.
Registration and Annual Sign-Up:
To join any of our Youth leagues, curlers new to Highland Community Curling Club must first submit a New Member Request:
Note: All youth registrants must have their own unique email address to join.
After membership is accepted, all youth curlers, new and returning, must complete the annual member Sign-Up process:
- All youth curlers must first sign-up for our Youth program each season. The annual Youth program membership fee is $100.00 (+HST).
- Curlers selected into our Youth Competitive program will later be invoiced for the supplimental program fee. Youth Competitive is $200.00 (+HST) total (including the Youth program membership fee).
